The Palmako Sally 44mm Log Cabin (102083) is a 3.9m x 3.9m (13ft x 13ft) garden room with a base footprint of 3.6m x 3.6m at wall level. That gives you a solid, square internal floor area well suited to a home office or personal gym. The apex roof with its scalloped overhang edge adds height and character without eating into your garden.

44mm Nordic Spruce interlocking logs form the walls throughout. The floor is 19mm tongue and groove boarding on treated foundation joists. The roof is also 19mm tongue and groove. Note that no roof covering is included you choose felt shingles, SBS torch-on felt or underlay felt as an optional extra. Windows and doors have rubber seals and silicone for weather tightness.

Double entrance doors are double glazed with a laminated finish and a cylinder lock. One tilt-and-turn double glazed window provides ventilation and natural light. A metal gutter on the window prevents water ingress. The low door sill has a stainless steel cover. Electrics are not pre-wired but cables can be routed by a qualified electrician.

Five-year manufacturer's guarantee backs the build. It works as a year-round home office or gym. 3D adjustable door hinges and laminated frames resist warping in all temperatures.

A firm, level base is required before installation and is not supplied with the cabin. A concrete slab or paving slabs are the standard choice. An optional 12x12 plastic shed base kit is available separately it uses interlocking recycled plastic grids laid onto a compacted, level surface and allows drainage and ventilation beneath the floor.

The cabin arrives flat packed and is assembled using the interlocking log method. Two people are required. No specific build time is stated but a cabin this size typically takes a full day. Assembly instructions are included. The roof covering is not supplied and must be purchased and fitted separately. Apply timber treatment before or immediately after assembly.

A professional installation service is available check with the supplier for availability and scheduling. Base preparation and electrical work are not covered by any installation service. Solar lighting installation is also excluded from all garden building installation services.

No wiring or electrical components are supplied. A qualified electrician can route cables into the building. The solid log construction allows for surface-mounted conduit. Solar lighting is available as an optional add-on but installation is not included with any garden building installation service.

The cabin arrives untreated. Apply an anti-fungal timber treatment before use and repeat annually this is required to maintain the 5-year guarantee. Palmako recommend Timmersol Timber Stabiliser, with five bottles needed for this building. Check and clear the roof covering annually and keep the window metal gutter clear of debris.

The 3.9m x 3.9m footprint gives you a generous square floor area. As a home office it fits two desks with room left for storage units or a filing cabinet. As a gym it handles a treadmill, weights bench and storage with ease. The double doors at 1510mm wide make moving large equipment in straightforward. It also works well as a hobby room or art studio where you need good natural light from the tilt-and-turn window. The eaves height of 2050mm and ridge of 2560mm give comfortable standing room throughout.

Most garden buildings in England fall under permitted development if the eaves height is under 2.5m. This cabin has an eaves height of 2050mm which is within that limit, though the ridge reaches 2560mm. Rules differ in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and on designated land.
